Some things there are no delicate words for in the English language for. At times like those, French and Yiddish come in very handy. As does twitterese. Words and phrases like
d‘un certain age and
mishegoss and
#SUCKITLupus - they say a lot with so little.
I am a do-er, but I can’t do much about lupus, which makes me furious. I suppose my raison d’etre is to fight for the causes I believe in, in whatever way I can.
Erin thought I was kidding when I said I was going to make
#SUCKITLupus stickers. I wasn’t. And if you contribute in any amount to
The Lupus Foundation I will mail you one tomorrow.* (If you’re reading this on a Saturday, I’ll mail it Monday).
Help make #SUCKITLupus a battle cry in the fight against Lupus and Auto Immune illnesses. Do it because sometimes we don’t have the resources - be it words or finances - to think we can make a difference.
WE ALL CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
If you have a blog, you could totally cut and paste this bit of code below and add it to your site. Who doesn’t love puppies or chevron patterns or stickers, right?
Thanks to
Erin and
Aaron and their family who launched the hastag that inspired the stickers that brought you here. And thanks to all who’ve joined
Operation #SUCKITLupus and given me a hand - including
Lindsay Goldner and
Stacey Goodwin. And, of course, th Kotecki-Vest family dog,
Nicky. Because he’s kind of a big deal.

DISCLAIMER: This is a project created by Alex Asher Sears with the permission of Erin Kotecki Vest, who thought I was kidding when I said I was going to make stickers. The Lupus Foundation did not not approve or sanction this project, but all donations made go directly to their organization with the hope of fighting this disease and retiring the #SUCKITLupus hashtag very, very soon.
*(Nicky the Pup #SUCKITLupus stickers are 2×3.5 high gloss stickers designed by AlexandraWrote featuring the Sprik Space Collection.)
